Why we started

I began my cybersecurity career analysing malware and understanding how adversaries operated. Across four SOCs and while building a threat intelligence team at NAB, I kept seeing the same disconnect: understanding adversaries and operating defenses happened separately, resulting in a disconnect of how we did security from what the bad guys were actually doing. Bringing those worlds together made defense more informed, but depended heavily on specialist skills and manual effort. We’re building Elezar to make that connection continuous, so understanding the threats relevant to your organisation shapes how you defend.

Jorell Magtibay

Founder & CEO

Jorell is a former CISO, global threat intelligence and cybersecurity leader with 16 years of experience spanning government agencies, Symantec, DXC, NAB, and Westpac. He has delivered multi-million-dollar cybersecurity programs, built a mature threat intelligence team at NAB, and spoken at multiple cybersecurity conferences. His career began in malware analysis and spans four security operations centres. He founded Elezar to turn that experience into a capability more organisations can access: connecting threat understanding with practical, relevant defense.

Hiep Doan

Co-founder & CTO

Hiep brings 12 years of experience in software and data engineering, building systems that process large volumes of data and support products at scale. His career spans IBM, GoTo, Twitter, and Immutable, with work ranging from data pipelines and fraud detection to production AI agents. At Elezar, he brings that engineering experience to the challenge of making threat-led defense work in practice, building the systems that connect intelligence, organisational context, and defensive action.
